Military and their family members may change their legal residence every time they change permanent duty stations, or they may retain their legal residence without change. This may mean that the family's Uniformed Service member has a different legal voting residence than his/her family members. The army makes modifications to pregnant soldiers' duties, schedules and physical-fitness requirements. AR 40-501, the army pregnancy regulation, lets you continue your service during and after your pregnancy. This regulation also has duty limitations that ensure your health and safety along with the health of your unborn baby.
Duty stations are categorized on a scale of difficulty from A to E with E being the most difficult. The hardship allowance provides staff with compensation to make whatever arrangements they deem necessary to manage under the circumstances or to supplement for the lack of adequate facilities at the duty station.

Every month (or so) the Army Times publishes a list of soldiers who wish to locate others of the same rank, MOS, and basic qualifications, stationed at installation (s) they desire to be assigned at. Soldiers can use this listing to contact these soldiers desiring to SWAP, and make an informal agreement.

Flying in CONUS determines certain limitations to space-available travel on military aircraft. Course Language Proficiency Pay once you are assigned to your first duty station. The amount is paid in addition to any other pay and allowances you receive. The amount you receive is dependent upon your proficiency, and the language spoken.
